I came across this Substack post. Reading about Zvonkin’s pursuits resurfaced a long-standing excitement inside of me for teaching, not unrelated to when I was reading about Oppenheimer’s childhood in American Prometheus. More than anything, I want to do some Real Teaching, create an experience that connects intentionally with the intrinsic interests and aptitudes of a student.

But more pressingly now, I want a Real Teacher for my pursuits in physics. Not someone that will teach me everything, but who I can go to for perspective and guidance. Undergrad so far has taught me that it’s very easy to feel untethered in this competitive, online world. I’m looking to better navigate all of its wonders and possibilities.
